I used to watch a movie about samurai, I don’t remember which one, and there was a moment when a Buddhist monk went through a battle. So the samurai stopped fighting. But how disgusting it is to watch a priest giving a cross and blessing to fight. If he is defending a religion, why doesn’t he go into battle himself? Like the famous Russian monk Peresvet did? But here priests do not defend anything, they bless to kill. From my moral compass, they are all murderers. I dislike Russian Orthodox Church headed by Kirill.
Catholics have now long focused on interesting moral questions, such as how artificial intelligence should behave. And it is turning into such an ethical institution. And I think that’s cool. On the other hand, I am repulsed by the impositions set forth by Catholics, for example, that a priest cannot marry or that there are some new concepts like purgatory.
Protestants are pretty pragmatic, but don’t seem deep enough to me.
