Today I heard an awesome phrase in a lecture on argumentation: argumentation is not proof. Proofs can only exist in formal sciences. An argument is built on probability, on experience. If there is an authoritarian regime, then society is unhealthy. A democratic regime is precisely the support of society’s functioning through arguments. When a boss or ruler says that they have made a decision only and does not listen to arguments, the collective and society are already becoming ill.
